Now, more than ever, there’s a strong call-to-action to progress gender parity.
International Women’s Day 2018 theme is #PressforProgress, imploring us to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive.
The City of Manchester invites her residents to take part in a week long festival of events, culminating in a sparkling celebration ceremony on Thursday 8th March 2018.
The event will feature a panel from Manchester’s leading women in business, discussing what needs to change in education, opportunities, and the workplace to make our city more inclusive, and the best place to nurture female talent.
Confirmed speakers include:
Joanne Roney – Chief Executive of Manchester City Council
Lou Cordwell OBE – Director of AllBright and CEO of Magnetic North
Emer Coleman- Head of Tech Engagement at The Co-Op
Business leaders will be invited to make a pledge as to how their organisation can contribute to this goal, and how they – as individuals- will #PressforProgress. Our celebration will provide an incredible opportunity to network, and you’ll also get a chance to meet with the organisations across Manchester who champion change.
Showcasing incredible local female performers, and with a drinks reception kindly provided by our Official Bar Partner, Revolucion De Cuba, you can expect an inspiring, uplifting evening.
