The Write In – Creative Writing Workshop

About this Event

Every 3rd Friday we will gather and write. No writing experience is necessary, and writers of all levels and backgrounds are welcome.

Feel free to write a letter, short story, essay, song, or rant. After writing for each prompt, we’ll have time to share. Sharing is optional, but we will use this time for supportive feedback.

About the FacilitatorLySaundra Campbell is a storyteller and editor based in New York City. She is the editor/writer at a social justice organization based in Washington, D.C. and longtime gender and racial justice creative activist.

Her words are on platforms like The Washington Post. Shondaland, Rewire News, Sojourners, The Crisis Magazine, The Witness Black Christian Collective, 21Ninety, The New Territory Magazine, Elite Daily, Blavity, and more.

When she isn’t advocating for social and political liberation, you can find her with friends, playing or listening to music, curled up with a book, or fangirling over Issa Rae.

About Social Soundtrack: This is the soundtrack of our resistance and our resilience.

The purpose of Social Soundtrack is to create opportunities for community, storytelling, and healing across the African Diaspora through creative art and cultural expression.
