Test card live 11 – Free Audio Visual Event – Texture NQ Manchester

Specially curated by the Test Card team and utilising Texture MCR’s superb in-house projection & sound setup, Test Card Live is back for its 11th edition. Each night provides a platform for artists exploring cutting edge ideas and Techniques within audio & visual performance. If that wasn’t enough, Test Card will be the official pre-party to Rhythm Theory: Pär Grindvik, just over the road at Soup Kitchen.

+ Dug (DJ / Live AV)

Bringing together his unique brand of Glaswegian thumping techno and generative live software Pix, Dug will be finishing off the night with a special hybrid set.

+ MtMt + FRUT (Live A/V)

Co-founder of the mutualism collective – an exciting collective of musicians pushing the boundaries of sound design, Julian Jaschke aka MtMt will be teaming up with London-based visual artist Rich T. On the night they will be showcasing a special one-off collaborative performance, which will blend together both Julian’s cutting edge sound design with Richards psychotropic vision.

+ Seth Scott + Guillaume Dujat (Live)

Seth Scott (b. 1992) is a composer and sound artist whose work explores relationships between sound and space. With particular focus on urban and architectural spaces, he engages a variety of media, including interactive and locative technologies, in re-configuring the soundscapes of every day life. He studied Electronic Music at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and lives and works in London. Guillaume Dujat (b.1993) is a sound artist and electroacoustic composer, whose interests include field recording, sound design and multichannel audio. A French national raised in Beijing, Guillaume is currently working towards a PhD in Composition at the University of Manchester. Individually the pair have produced work for the Barbican Centre, The Whitworth Collection, Bloomberg Space, and Iklectik Art Lab.

+ Sam Meech (Live AV) – Knitronica

Sam Meech presents his ongoing experiments in linking punchcard knitting machines to digital systems and AV performance. Using a domestic punchcard knitting machine linked to a camera tracking system to programme lights and sound, Sam will attempt to ‘perform’ with the machine as a synth/sequencer. Don’t expect it to take over the charts just yet.

Auren (Live/ DJ) – Providing tunes throughout the night.
