The digital and technology sector hasn’t been immune to the impact of COVID-19. Far from it in fact!
The pandemic has changed much about the way we work; how we do our jobs, where we do them, how we communicate and how we make money.
It has accelerated digital transformation and diversification; changed company cultures; permanently closed offices. More employees than ever before will now be working flexibly in the longer-term and this brings further challenges that not all businesses are equipped to deal with.
At this event we’ll discuss the impact that the pandemic has had on people, spaces and the community as a whole. We’ll look at how it’s changed our behaviours; as consumers and employees and we’ll consider how it might shape our future working practices.
We’ll also take a look at Greater Manchester’s Good Employment Charter, which aims to improve employment standards across all GM employers. We’ll consider how the charter will help the tech sector to rebuild and plan for the new future of work.
The event will be chaired by Katie Gallagher, managing director of Manchester Digital.
There will be a brief introduction from Ian MacArthur, Head of the GM Good Employment Charter at The Growth Company
Panelists include:
- Stewart Reynolds, Sales and Marketing Director, Shopblocks
- Lou Cordwell OBE, CEO of Magnetic North and Co-Chair of the GMLEP
- More to be announced soon
