Salford and Manchester Weekend Code Club gives children aged 9-11 their first introduction to programming, by teaching them fun and interesting projects that will develop their computing skills.
The taught languages will progress through Scratch (a visual, block-based, programming language), HTML (used everywhere on the web) and Python (a simple to understand, general-purpose programming language – it’s used on the Raspberry Pi).
Run by (awesome) volunteer Gary Pickup, Code Club runs at MadLab between 10am – 11am every fortnight. For more information, please contact codeclub@madlab.org.uk. If you would like to join the team, please get in touch at office@madlab.org.uk. We provide free training and DBS checks for all volunteers.
