Our Intensive One Day Introduction to Scriptwriting for Screen is designed for new writers wanting to get started with writing for the big or small screen.
The day is jam-packed and covers, Structure, Character, Dialogue, Formatting, Clips, Writing Exercises and developing your own ideas.
By the end of the day, you will be ready to start writing your own scripts and use the tools and techniques presented.
This day is intensive and is great for those of you who need a refresher or want to quickly get stuck into writing. It is however informal and fun and designed for people with no or little writing experience or those of you who are lacking motivation or feel you need to get some structure back into your writing.

Once you’ve completed our introduction you will able to move onto our script development groups where we can assist you to develop a portfolio of scripts. We have 2 kinds of script development group, online(classroom) and in Manchester. Our next block of groups start: End of March 2018
Scriptwriting North & Beth McCann
Scriptwriting North is a hub for new and emerging writers of TV, Film, and Radio. We support writers to produce their best work. Writers attend our sessions are at various levels.
Current participants are working professionally with the BBC and ITV, developing ideas with production companies, winners of the Northern Writers Award with Channel 4 and have been shortlisted for BAFTA Rocliffe awards, BBC Writersroom Comedy and Blue Cat Hollywood Competition.
Writing should be fun and the key is that you enjoy it. Our groups are informal but focused and supportive.
Beth McCann MA, is a new writing specialist and university lecturer in scriptwriting. She has worked with 100’s of new writers and helped that at the start of their writing journey.
