Have you been involved in, or have an interest in, teaching, training or mentoring within the tech industry?
NorthCoders are organising an evening of lightning talks to share knowledge and ideas and hear different perspectives. You will end the talk with a ‘poster hack’ where you will produce small posters to illustrate/explain a range of technical or tech-related concepts and after the event they will be compiled into a booklet!
Confirmed Lightning Talks:
- Programming analogies (Mauro Gestoso, Northcoders)
- Techniques for mentoring and being mentored (Rebekah Cooper, Co-op Digital)
- ‘Provisioning for additional obstacles to learning: Code4000 and CodeYourFuture’ (Anna Smith, Code Your Future, Code First Girls and Code4000)
- How we teach complicated stuff, with recursion as an example (Northcoders)
- What can we learn from “Daughters of destiny” to improve the way we teach? (Alan Ionita, Code Your Future)
- Zines, Sketchnotes and Visuals (Harriet Ryder, Northcoders)
