BBC Digital Cities will be returning to Manchester for 2020, with a week-long series of events for the creative industries!!
Starting on Monday 24 February, there will be a full and varied schedule across the week, offering insights and FREE digital skills training, with partners including BBC Writersroom, BBC Academy and BBC Young Reporter plus digital arts and creative conference, Hello Culture Remix, will be making its return to the city.

On Monday 24 February, join us at the BBC base at MediaCity to brush up your digital skills with FREE training in iPhone filming and editing, as well as finding out about podcasting, Instagram and newest digital storytelling platform TikTok.
On Tuesday, BBC Young Reporter holds a STEM careers event with a day filled with STEM-related career insights and activities for schoolchildren at MediaCityUK.
Wednesday will see The Sharp Project hosting the BBC Young Reporter programme at their site in North Manchester and you can join Hello Culture Remix at MediaCity’s The Landing with a great line up of speakers from across the arts and creative industries.
On Wednesday evening, MediaCityUK will launch the first in a series of FREE ‘SPOTLIGHT ON’ events which will invite experts from the creative, tech and digital sectors to shine a light on new developments and topical issues.
On Thursday, you can head over to Manchester Metropolitan University’s The Shed for Screen Futures – a fantastic day of events, packed full of opportunities for storytellers on all digital platforms.
If you are looking for funding for your latest film venture, want to know more about writing for social media or commissioning opportunities in VR & immersive, then this day is for you.
Featuring, amongst others, SODA, ScreenSkills, BBC Writersroom, Creative England’s ShortFLIX, BFI NETWORK and Tyneside Cinema, there will be opportunities to find out about schemes, bursaries, funding and commissioning opportunities, as well as recent arrivals to the north-west, Channel 4, talking about their latest apprenticeships and trainee schemes in Leeds.
And for those interested in eGaming, on Friday you can attend the eGaming event and showcase at the Salford University campus at MediaCity where there will be inspirational speakers, networking opportunities and the chance to try out the latest interactive games available.
