This free session is all about getting the most out of your Raspberry Pi.
You know Raspberry Pi, that little micro computer you got for Christmas and its still sitting in its box unused because you have NO IDEA what to do with it?!
We’ll show you how to get it up and running, how to code it, and most importantly how to get it to make LEDs flash on and off!
If you’re already a raspberry Pi expert please come along too and share the tech love so we can get everyone involved in the wonderful world of Raspberry Pi.
Polite note – PLEASE, please, please only register if you actually intend to show up! Places are limited and we don’t want people who genuinely want to attend to miss out.
About Wigan Steam
Wigan S.T.E.A.M. is a participatory arts organisation which aims to build connections between STEM, culture and heritage. At Wigan S.T.E.A.M. we offer people meaningful and empowering learning opportunities, through our programme of workshops and exhibitions, and access to making facilities for the local community. Alongside this, we also work on specific creative and heritage-based projects. We are based largely at The Creative Hub on Library St, Wigan, but we also pop up in schools, libraries, and other community settings across the Borough.
Workshops we run cover many areas, including:
- Digital and interactive arts
- Coding (Scratch, Python & Processing)
- Physical computing & electronics (Raspberry Pi & Arduino)
- Game design
- Animation
- 3D Printing
- Drone Coding
- Screen printing
We run Maker Nights for adults each Wednesday which alternate between Crafts and Creative Tech, as well as Code Up once a month, Code Club on Saturday mornings, and Art Lab for families once a month.
