CFCCA ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAMME
CFCCA has a long standing and well respected Artist in Residence programme that has been in place since 2003. Artists are invited to live and work on site at the gallery in a purpose built artist studio and living space. Since 2017 the artists on site will also engage further with the CFCCA audience & local community through a series of artist workshops and events directly linked to the individual artists work.
The Breathe Artist in Residence programme offers artists of Chinese descent an ideal environment to reflect on their artistic practice, research and make new work within an international setting. These residency opportunities usually last 2-3 months and culminate in an Open Studio event to showcase resulting work and research.
The Whisper Artist in Residence programme is open to artists of any background, but they must be UK based and interested in exploring ideas around contemporary Chinese culture and/or our seasonal themes. These residency opportunities usually last 3-4 weeks and host an informal Open Studio event.
CFCCA also works with a number of international partner organisations to host international artist exchanges for local and nationally based artists to live and work in China for up to 3 months. Details of these exciting opportunities will be found on our Artistic Opportunities page as they are announced.
