Creative Careers – Capturing Dance on Film

Are you a filmmaker who wants to understand how best to capture the beauty and energy of dance?  Or a dancer looking to explore creative storytelling through dance on film?  If so – this amazing cross-art form workshop is for you!  From learning about how to direct dancers, to understanding how to duet with a camera, you’ll get a real practical insight into how dancers and filmmakers can work with each other to tell stories, improve each other’s craft, and create something new.

You’ll also get the chance to ask questions about building a career as an independent filmmaker or professional dance artist, get some inspiration for your next project, and spend some time with other emerging creatives.

Sam Arbor is an award-winning filmmaker and graduate of HOME’s BFI Film Academy and Yandass Ndlovu is a dancer and artist who has performed with Manchester International Festival and Boy Blue.   Together they have created yandass.mov (London Short Film Festival), Let’s Go (featured on BBC North West Tonight), WOZA! (Manchester International Festival Live).

The workshop will take place via Zoom.
