Video is everywhere. There’s hardly a website … a shop … a bar … an exhibition … that doesn’t feature it. Everybody needs video. And it’s really quite easy to make your own – if you know what you’re doing.
Video Making Skills workshop, Bury Central Library: 10am to 3pm
Did you know that the main thing that stops most people starting to produce their own videos is actually knowing where to start?
What do you say? How do you say it? How long should a video be? What should be in it? How do you film it? And with what?
Now you can learn the basics of video making in a free one-day workshop. Bring your smartphone to make your own films and learn all the tips and tricks to get the best out the ‘TV studio in your pocket’! Using smartphones or budget cameras plus a few simple accessories, it is possible to tell great stories – and this is the place to start!
This workshop is delivered on behalf of the Big Ideas Generators project by film-maker Ian Sandall.
Ian has extensive experience as a commercial film-maker in Manchester producing TV commercials and videos. He now splits his time between teaching film and producing, directing and writing it.
Attendees should bring the equipment that they intend to use for filmmaking – smartphone or tablet – whatever you have to hand.
