The inaugural edition of Bolton Film Festival launches on 20th and 21st Septemberat The Light Cinema Experience within the Market Place, Bolton – a listed Victorian building that has undergone a twenty-seven million pound refurbishment.
We’re seeking out innovative and groundbreaking short films (under 20 mins) from independent film-makers and students. Whether it’s drama, documentary, animation, comedy or experimental our aim is to showcase emerging talent to an audience of like-minded individuals and industry experts.
We understand that every penny counts with independent filmmakers and have kept our entry fees as affordable as possible.
Early Bird Entry Deadline 1st April – £10.00
Mid-Term Deadline 1st May – £14.25
Regular deadline 1st June – £15.40
Late entry deadline 1st July – £19.25
Animation and Experimental categories are discounted, check FilmFreeway for pricing.
Student entry fees are fixed at £10.00 for university students and £8.25 for sixth form / college students.
Community Groups / Charities / Schools – Free Entry
Our submission deadline is the 1st July 2017, entries should be made using the FilmFreeway or Festhome gateway below – both platforms are free to join as a film-maker and it only takes a few minutes to sign up.
The submissions will be critiqued and selected by a jury of experts from the industry and showcased throughout a two-day festival.
For selected film-makers who are coming from further afield, we are offering free accommodation at The Holiday Inn (Bolton) one of our supporting partners.
We’ll be notifying the shortlisted film-makers on August 21st so they can invite their friends and family. Extra tickets will be on sale during the summer of 2017 for £6 each (per night) so make sure you book your seats in advance as we expect our attendance to be high.
