Creative England: Be More Creative – Manchester

Be More Creative returns with Be More Manchester – an unmissable celebration of Greater Manchester’s unique creativity and thriving creative industries.

Join us for a day celebrating Manchester’s creativity, with the brightest minds from film, games, tech and TV and an eye-opening looking at the future of storytelling. Please see below for an overview of the event.

Day 1

Be More Manchester launches with an exclusive day exploring our theme of the day ‘The Future of Storytelling’.

Featuring a spoken word performance from cultural phenomenon Lemn Sissay; a thought-provoking panel discussion with experts across Film, TV, Games and Tech; hear the stories of Manchester companies leading innovation and discover the creative journey of Ged Doherty; from growing up in Manchester to becoming the CEO of Sony Music UK, Chairman of the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and the BRIT Awards, and co-founding Raindog Films with Colin Firth.

This is followed by the opportunity to make connections over drinks provided by Manchester-based Alphabet Brewery, by local street food favourites The Blue Caribou Canteen & Wholesome Junkies. Guest will also experience innovative technology at the cutting edge of content creation, including Renegade Fortress and Future Aleppo, and music from Sonic Sahara.

Day 2

Join us for BE MORE MANCHESTER day two, a morning event of masterclasses and workshops led by Contact Marketing Association and Ian Golding for creative businesses working in Manchester, followed by a networking lunch.

The day is opened with a workshop from the Content Marketing Association (CMA), the industry association for marketing, publishing, advertising and social agencies. With an overarching aim to promote the use of content as an effective marketing tool to client marketers and showcase the channels it can be used for, the CMA regularly hold training sessions with their clients to train their clients to make the best use possible of their platforms.

Their morning session is a great opportunity for delegates to hear from the experts on the best way to approach and craft their marketing content.

We have a masterclass run by Customer Experience Consultant Ian Golding on how to tell the story of your business. A highly influential freelance CX consultant, Ian advises leading companies on CX strategy, measurement, improvement and employee advocacy techniques and solutions, and is an internationally renowned speaker and blogger.
