Digital Futures / Meet your role models
“You can’t be what you can’t see”
While Ada Lovelace is where it all began we know that current and future generations of women may not initially resonate with her. That’s where you come in, as part of the Digital Futures programme, they are hosting an event to celebrate and showcase the diversity of amazing women in tech and their achievements.
You can’t be what you can’t see. Help them change that. They will be working with groups of young woman from local Greater Manchester schools and colleges to raise their awareness and exposure to the many faces of women in tech and the many pathways open to them. They also want to enthuse them by getting hands-on with digital skills.
Calling all women in tech: Are you or your employer a member of Manchester Digital? We want to hear from inspirational women in digital and tech roles who are interested in helping educate and encourage young women to consider a career in our industry whilst helping them discover what their ‘possible’ is. Can you help with the meet your role models talks and workshops? Can you share your journey, experience and advice or skills? If so, get in touch with emma@manchesterdigital.com to register your interest.
Not a member of Manchester Digital and want to get involved? Why not join them now?

What is Ada Lovelace Day?
Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). It aims to increase the profile of women in STEM and, in doing so, create new role models who will encourage more girls into STEM careers and support women already working in STEM.
This event is in association with event partners Museum of Science & Industry and STEM Ambassadors
